South Lakes Health & Beauty was set up by Rachele Kenion BSc (Hons), MICHT, MHFST and is an extension of Sports Injuries & Holistic Therapies by Rachele Kenion (formerly Furness Sports Injury Rehabilitation). The company was established in 2006 by Rachele Kenion who initially provided a Sports Massage and Sports Injury Service in Barrow-in-Furness. Rachele initially began training in Sports Rehabilitation at St Mary's College in Twickenham in 2002 for a period of 3 years. Rachele took a particular interest in sports massage and continues to specialise in the use of sports massage for sports injuries and for the relief of musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries sustained by the non-sports person. 

It was at this time that Rachele also became interested in complementary therapies and as part of her degree she also undertook training in aromatherapy. Since graduating, Rachele's interest in holistic therapy has strengthened and she has extensive and ongoing experience of working in salon and spa environments at well known hotels in the Lake District, in addition to working independently as a freelance therapist in Barrow-in-Furness.  

Over the past 2 years the business has been has expanded to incorporate other complementary and holistic therapies and also introduce health and beauty treatments, which have been added to existing Sports Massage and Aromatherapy treatments. Rachele has undertaken additional training in holistic health and beauty therapies. She holds qualifications and certification in Holistic Facials, Manicure and Pedicure, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Hopi Ear Candling and more.

Rachele holds full professional membership with the Federation of Holistic Therapists and is also a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists (MICHT) and the International Council of Health, Fitness and Sports Therapists (MHFST). She can be found on the FHT's online register of practising therapists in Barrow-in-Furness.

Rachele has treated clients from all walks of life ranging from the young to the elderly, whether they be competing athletes or simply suffering from everyday aches and pains. Rachele also holds full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, provided by Therapist Insurance Services (TIS). All treatments are insured and Rachele is able to carry out all treatments in which she is qualified safely and to a high standard.

Rachele is based at Pastures New Health Food Store in Barrow-in-Furness but she also provides a mobile service (at an additional cost) and caters for Pamper Parties. The areas we cater for home visits and Pamper Parties covers the majority of South Cumbria and the Lake District, including Dalton-in-Furness, Askam-in-Furness, Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands, Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside.
